Are you looking for an all-in-one woodcarver set? Buying individual tools can be pricy. Sometimes you do not know if you have all you need especially if you are a beginner.

These tools all have different specifications, giving you specific carving abilities. The great thing about this kit is that it is affordable. It is cheaper to buy a kit than get individual knives and gouges. 

Aesthetics

These knives and gouges come in a wooden box that keeps them safely in place when you are not using them.  It is strong enough to hold the tools and also helps to keep the tools looking tidy. 

If you are even in the slightest bit compulsive about an order, then storing your tools in this box will become one of your happy places. With separate compartments for the knives, you know that each knife and gouge will be needed. 

The knives and gouges each have the Flexcut signature handle and logo. The ergonomic design on the knives helps you keep control as you work. The design is well finished and great to look at.

Performance Review

The Flexcut KN12 is also known as the cutting knife and works well as a general-purpose knife. The KN13 knife is a detail knife and is best used to carve out the finer details of your project.

The Flexcut KN18 is a pelican knife with a pointed edge and a curved blade, best used for a tight turning radius, which is great for working on small projects in tight spaces. 

The Flexcut KN27 is a mini detail knife with a straight blade. It works well on all carvings and only works on the parts focused on without disturbing the adjacent ones. 

The set also has palm tools, which can look like screwdrivers. They are better used on small projects like caricatures or even table coasters. The 2-inch ash handles on the palm tools are short and detachable, giving you great control. 

Safety

This set comes in a wooden box that will keep the blades safe, which is also for your safety. When you are done using them, put them back in the box. It is also essential to take the necessary precautions when using the blades. 

The knives held differently compared to the palm tools. Hold them properly, and make sure that you have a firm grip on the tool as you use it. You do not want it slipping out and exposing you to potentially cutting yourself. 

Either way, you can use protective gloves and thumb guards to protect your hands. As much as you may try to remain focused as you use them, there is a possibility that you could cut yourself as you carve, and this is where the protective hand gear comes in handy (pun intended).
