Bosch GTS1031 vs 4100 | How Do These Two Table Saws Compare

While looking for a table saw, I landed on the Bosch gts1031 vs 4100 debate. Which one is better? I took some time to check them both out and do some research. Experience and research gave me the information I am about to share with you. They are both portable and have features in common. Yet, some differences separate them. You need to look at the weight, design, pricing, rip capacity, build quality, and safety features. As I take you through this article, match the differences with your needs.

Overview of the Bosch GTS1031

It is a table saw that comes with a steel base that is lightweight and durable. The steel base can withstand heavy impact from the workpiece and the environment. Long-lasting performance is what you get from the machine. The machine is portable and mobile as it comes with one handle that you use to carry it. The handle has an ergonomic design that gives you a grip on the machine. Moving the saw machine around is not a hassle due to the handle.

The precision comes in a square lock rip fence that aligns itself accurately. The cutting is consistent as the fence system allows you to glide along with the saw without difficulties. The guard system has anti-kickback pawls and a riving knife system that gives you more control of the machine. The 10inch carbide blade has an 18inch rip capacity. It works on multiple materials with ease. The motor produces 5,000 rotations per minute. The rip capacity to the left is 7.75inches. Convenience comes in the storage system that the machine offers.

You can keep your working area clear since you can keep your accessories in the storage area. It accommodates your rip fence, miter gauge, wrenches, blade guard, and many more tools. The package includes a table saw, 10-inch carbide-tipped blade, rip fence, miter gauge, push stick, and wrenches. Wrenches are for changing the blade. The bevel angle ranges from -2 to 47 degrees, and the cord is 6 feet long. The depth cut at 45 degrees is 2-1/4inches and 3-1/8iches at 90degrees. The table saw weighs 52lbs, and the stable base keeps your machine sturdy.

Pros

  • Durable
  • Precise
  • Convenient
  • Portable
  • Versatile

Cons

  • The depth adjustment becomes sticky with time
  • The bolts you need to loosen when adjusting the blade stuck.

Key Features of the Bosch gts1031

Rip capacity

The rip capacity to the left is 7.75inches to the left of the blade and 18inches to the right. At 90 degrees, the table saw cuts up to 3-1/8inches, and at 45degrees, it cuts up to 2-1/4inches. That is quite decent for most of your needs. However, that does not mean that it is the largest market. Some saws have up to 50 to 80 teeth on the blade, making the tool perfect in rip capacity.

10inch blade

The 10inch blade is durable enough to tackle hard material. It has 24 teeth that make it efficient. It is easy to change, and it comes with a guard that protects the user’s fingers. The blade allows the machine to produce multiple cuts such as rip, cross, miter, beveled, dado, rabbet, and worktops. It goes through tough hardwoods without ease. Unlike steel blades, it produces precise cuts that are unquestionable. The saw blade is highly durable.

Max cutting depth

The maximum depth cut at 45 degrees is 2-1/4inches and 3-1/8iches at 90degrees.

Amp motor

The 15Amp motor has the capacity of producing 5000 rotations per month. That gives the machine more cutting. That power will enable the saw machine to tackle most of the DIY requirements that can be demanding. It also meets the requirements of commercial woodwork. The flexibility that comes with the motor makes it versatile.

Rotations per minute

The 4 HP motor has a speed of 5,000 rotations per minute. It is ideal for both DIYs and professionals. It complements the accuracy that comes with the rip capacity.

Safety features

The table saw has safety instructions noted inside the manual, a riving knife, and the anti-kickback device. The instructions are there to make sure that you are safe. Chances of risks reduce the chances of injuring yourself. The safety features in the machine are easily removable without additional tools. The riving knife and the anti-kickback device separates the two cut sections of timber. That prevents kickbacks. The blade guard reduces the risk of hurting your fingers.

The large cast aluminum top is spacious enough for large materials, and it has a rip capacity of 30inches.

The soft-start circuitry intensifies the start-up of the motor. That reduces the chances of tripping a circuit breaker. The Smart Guard system makes up the safety features of the table saw. It includes a riving knife and anti-kickback pawls. These prevent kickbacks, and the guard assembly avoids contact between the user and the blade. It also gives visibility to the user.

The blade guard also protects the material as you are cutting. The handles that come with the saw make it easy to carry. The integrated sub-base gives you a stable and durable saw machine. The adjustable feet allow you to operate the saw machine at a convenient height. That is comfortable to the user due to the limited chances of straining your back. There is onboard storage that gives you space for your rip fence, miter gauge, extra blades, and push stick.
